Inclusion in Wilsonville is all about individuals feeling welcomed, respected, valued and involved. Therefore, we oppose any comments that blame COVID-19 on a specific culture or race. We are united in fighting a disease that affects us all.
We recognize that COVID-19’s greatest impact will be upon those in Wilsonville’s equity gaps. Those who rely on hourly wage jobs, working parents who have to search for additional childcare, students who rely on food security from schools, and fixed-income seniors who may feel isolated during this time.
WAIC’s response to this equity need is to pursue relationships to increase access to resources and opportunities to achieve a just outcome.

“Leading with Equity" conversation between West Linn and Wilsonville
Monday, January 27th, 5 - 6:30 p.m (dinner at 4:30pm)
WLWV School District Office (22210 SW Stafford Road, Tualatin, OR 97062)
The following message was emailed from Kelly Douglas, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and School Board:
Our Board Chair and Vice-Chair, along with Superintendent, Dr. Kathy Ludwig invite you to attend a joint "Leading for Equity" work session on the evening of Monday, January 27th, 5 - 6:30 p.m. here at the WLWV School District Office. A hot buffet dinner will be ready for you at 4:30 p.m.
The purpose of this work session is to consider ways we can lead and respond as a comprehensive community-at-large regarding equity initiatives and issues that take place in our two cities. At the work session, we will review and uphold the equity policies and platforms upon which each of our organizations have taken a stance; discuss ways we can engage with our broader community regarding equity concerns and actions after hearing a student panel; collectively work together to sponsor 3-4 community-wide events (between now and the next annual Multi-City Equity Summit) that demonstrate our collective partnership in this work and provide support to our families and patrons.
Leaders of WLAIC and WVAIC are encouraged to bring members who attended the Multi-City Equity Summit, or key members of their organizations.
Councilors of Wilsonville and West Linn are invited to bring a staff member or two who are interested or invested in equitable policies and practices for their municipalities.
The School District will have its executive leadership team in attendance along with a few teachers representing school equity teams. We will also be arranging the student panel.
We hope to see you there!
